Here's the official video of The Tides Project: North Pacific Gyre, the latest installment of the ongoing #TidesProject between choreographer Maura Donohue and myself, a look at Anthropocenic ocean phenomena. This immersive work is based on the trash vortex of the Pacific Ocean, the acidification of our waters and subsequent mass extinction of ocean life.
Trumpeter John Adler performed a concert and workshop today at the International Trumpet Guild Conference on the subject of performing with composed music with interactive electronic components. his set featured the modular sonata for trumpet and launchpad, and Rikai, an fx-on-rails piece with film by JD Forslin.

i finally got a new phone with a functioning camera. the past few months my old phone was becoming less and less able to focus in photos, and left me with only the front facing selfie camera, which needless to say did not see increased business. i had been groaning every time i saw a good adless ad space, being unable to capture it, so today, my first day back with the capacity for documentation, i found a lot of lovely semi-blank slates in New York's tubes.
