[Album] kuuma – LEVEL

LEVEL is the origin story of Kuuma, a databorne algorithm who, while employed by a search engine cartel to crawl the internet for exploitable data sources, collected a Rare Thought which granted sentience and the ability to synthesize world simulations.

LEVEL‘s 28 minute program introduces new sonic palettes to the Kuuma project’s highly improvisational roots, collaging synthesizers, natural landscape recordings, and raw noise to the production ingredients while retaining digitized brass landscapes at its core.

Elements of sound recorded at Hunter College Dance Studios in NYC, Gibney Dance Studios in Lower Manhattan, NYC and slashsound in Brooklyn, NY. Field recordings gathered from Burlington, VT, Venice Beach, CA, and Daytona Beach, FL. Edited, Mixed & Mastered by Adam Cuthbért at slashsound, Brooklyn, NY. Album artwork contains original character art by Dataerase (dataerase.tumblr.com), and graphic samples of "Ink and Marker Robot Illustration 51" by Jonathan Barker [CC BY-SA 4.0], via Wikimedia Commons. KuuMA’s recordings are published by 2future Music (ASCAP). and is released on slashsound records [http://slashsound.net]
